Steve moved from Alabama to Florida at age 8, began playing guitar and singing at age 14, and was working professionally by age 17. He began his first band, Blue Mist, during his 7th thru 9th grade school years. They later became Airport, which was a very successful South Florida band during the the early 70's.
He spent his early years, doing weddings, private parties, working in clubs, and playing small concerts, while developing his abilities in many styles of music. He played in numerous bands over the years mainly doing Motown, Country, Blues and Classic Rock, which wasn't "classic" in those days. He also recorded some orginal songs with Elvis Presley's recording engineer as a member of Wyros, which got some air-play in South Florida.
His most successful cover band , Boomerang, was extremely popular in the late 70's doing gigs from West Palm Beach to Key West. In the early 90's,he reformed Boomerang, with different members, and again had great success playing some of the hottest gigs in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.
Steve's solid rythym guitar combined with his lead and background vocal range brings an added dimension to Rodeo Clowns harmonic blend and arrangements.
